Saw your set at the CT jazz fest. You sounded excellent! I saw video was taken...any video that you know of, Rob? Again, that was some great stuff.

It was totally a time issue not stopping to say nice show. I was going to come up to the Old Mill but can't make it. :(

Please respond to this. Have you guys ever considered playing "jam" festivals. "Camp Bisco"..."Camp Creak"...."All Good Festival"..."Mountain Jam"...I could go on forever with summer festivals.

It seems obvious you guys will play for anyone that enjoys the music and want anyone and everyone to be a part if they enjoy it. Now, I'm saying you're known in the Jam scene but my friend was talking to his friend who's involved with booking for a lot of these festivals and he was excited to hear of an act he hadn't heard of that might fit into the show. Now do you guys want to play for a bunch of patchouli smelling tree huggers? Do you want to play for people that enjoy eating drugs as much as they do listening to music? Hopefully it's not about that with you guys. And that's not what those "hippie" festivals are about....it just comes with the territory. Now what you guys don't need is to play for another crowd as large and lifeless as the one in CT! Sure we all enjoy music differently but it would have been nice to see a few more bodies moving. Shit...heads bopping...shit, feet tapping! LOL Most of your music is made for the "jam" scene. Even though your albums don't involve much improvisation, there's PLENTY of room for it. I liked how you rolled on with Eastside at the show. That's what I'm talking about. Every one of your tracks have room for live impov. It's almost like you guys are asking for more energy. If you tried, it would be a quick second getting you guys on one of those summer festival bills...probably in upstate NY would be a good one. Btw, I can't stomach the word "jam" sometimes as a way of categorizing music. But it is what it is. It is jam music. It's just that the term usually has people thinking "endless noodling" rather than an attempt at communicating.

Anyway...any itch to get on a summer festival bill? Not a smooth jazz fest. I don't listen to the disco biscuits much but I do know that you guys would go over huge at their festival "Camp Bisco". The one good thing about these festivals is the people come to listen. And if they like it they give you everything back and then some. Four80east deserves a crowd like that...a whole new fan base. The question I guess is what you guys are after?

Hope to hear from you soon
Take care, Rob

Wow!

I do love you guys!

I was happy to see 5/5 was the mood opener... I totally agree.. and stand by what I said b4 (pouring liquid joy and making Eddie Harris proud).

I love the live nuances. We speak the same language. Feels warm all over.

Too bad it ends so abruptly !

If you want to perform in Tahiti, let me know. I would LOVE to live that.

and... I do think you would too.

If you were to think about it I'd get you to meet some absolutely amazing musicians here (mostly guitar) very small island, some ultra cool folks from everywhere. It's unreal, just about everybody here is a musician, well let's say every other person. And the freaky thing is... some are out of this world! There's this guy, its Baden Powell, not totally my thing but unreal!

The meridien Hotel has a jazz gig every weekend. The beachcomber will book you non stop. I know I can arrange something with the maison de la culture with pro concert stage. We'll fill it!

This sounded so cool...

Let's have some more!

Thanks for posting those links, Nocturnal! The jam circuit would be fun for sure; we'll see what we can get cooking for next summer.

Lyonnel - glad you enjoyed the show... Tahiti sounds awesome!
